Unsubscribe from newsletters in Gmail

Find every recurring sender and opt out — without handing your inbox to a third party.

The average inbox receives dozens of newsletters a week, and unsubscribing manually means hunting for a tiny grey link at the bottom of each email. HealthInbox automates the tedious part: it detects every newsletter in your Gmail using the List-Unsubscribe header and sender patterns, groups them by sender with a message count, and surfaces each sender's official unsubscribe link as a button.

How to bulk unsubscribe in Gmail

  1. Connect Gmail through Google's official sign-in (read-only access).
  2. Scan — HealthInbox classifies your inbox locally; newsletters are detected from headers like List-Unsubscribe and Precedence: bulk.
  3. Open the Newsletters view — every recurring sender, ranked by how many emails they sent you.
  4. Click Unsubscribe on each sender you no longer read. HealthInbox opens the sender's own opt-out page and remembers who you already unsubscribed from.

Why not just use Gmail's built-in unsubscribe?

Gmail shows an unsubscribe link on some messages, but only one email at a time, with no overview of who mails you the most. HealthInbox gives you the full picture — all senders, sorted by volume — so ten minutes of clicking removes years of accumulated subscriptions. And unlike inbox-cleaning services that process your mail on their servers, everything here runs in your browser.

Delete newsletters from Gmail

Unsubscribing stops future emails; the existing pile is a separate problem. Bulk deletion requires Gmail write access, which the current read-only version deliberately does not request — it is planned as an explicit, opt-in update. In the meantime, HealthInbox shows you exactly which senders to search for in Gmail to mass-delete their messages yourself.

FAQ

Is it safe to click unsubscribe links?

For legitimate newsletters, yes — the List-Unsubscribe header is a standard mechanism senders must honor. HealthInbox only surfaces links from that header. For messages classified as spam, do not unsubscribe (it confirms your address is active); mark them as spam in Gmail instead.

Can I bulk unsubscribe from all newsletters at once?

Each unsubscribe goes through the sender's own opt-out flow, so a confirmation per sender is sometimes required — that is by design of the email ecosystem, not the tool. HealthInbox makes the loop as fast as possible: one ranked list, one button per sender, and a badge tracking who is already done.

Does HealthInbox read my emails to find newsletters?

It reads headers only (sender, subject, technical headers like List-Unsubscribe) via the official Gmail API. The body of your emails is never requested, and all analysis runs locally in your browser.
